With over 19 years of experience working with individuals who have been affected by domestic violence and intimate partner violence, Mary Beth has also served patients in mental health and substance abuse facilities, has provided street outreach to persons living with HIV, and has helped victims of domestic violence find their way from victimhood to survivorship.

Focusing on each person’s physical and emotional safety, Mary Beth will create a safe space free from judgment. She is interested in working with people who are focused on their own emotional healing.

Mary Beth is at a place in her career where she has chosen to pursue her clinical license to help others as a mental health practitioner so she can focus on helping them heal. She has experience in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and empowering others through self-advocacy. Brittany has experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism and feels adept at doing so. She has provided a range of different health and human services, including case management, community support, long-term facility care, applied behavioral analysis, and mental health coaching.

Brittany has experience in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, emotion-focused work, CBT, and DBT. She is looking forward to becoming EMDR trained and certified in the near future. She is interested in working with people from all walks of life, especially those seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. She genuinely enjoys getting to know others, meeting them where they are in their healing journeys, and helping them grow into their best selves.

Brittany has received training in shamanic practices and considers the connections we have with the Earth for healing purposes when working with clients. She believes that spirituality is a subjective experience that can manifest in a variety of ways and that individuals can connect spiritually even when they hold different spiritual beliefs.

Mariah completed her practicum at Love Is Healing, LLC. She holds a masters degree in social work and a master’s degree in mediation. As such, she works effectively with families and couples in resolving conflict and in promoting effective and productive communication. In working with individuals, she finds her skill set is particularly helpful in supporting clients in identifying and implementing boundaries.

Mariah particularly enjoys "being real" with clients.

Mariah is EMDR-trained and is also trained in DBT. She enjoys the emotion-focused lens, acknowledges the importance of relationships, and the importance of the role of attachment styles in intrapersonal relationships as well as interpersonal relationships. Mariah has special interests in: neuropsychology; personality development, especially in the face of attachment injuries and attachment styles. Shelley holds a master’s degree in clinical social work and completed a trauma-informed internship at Love is Healing. She previously worked with adolescents in a school setting. She also worked with whistleblowers for many years and advocated for stronger protections for those who speak the truth about wrongdoing.

Shelley is trained in EMDR and is informed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She is also certified in Trauma Sensitive Yoga (Trauma Center’s foundation's course). She is a Shamanic Reiki Master and likes to incorporate mindfulness techniques into her services. Her goal is to promote clients’ healing, liberation, and self-love in a supportive environment.

Shelley has experience working with multiple populations, including survivors of narcissistic abuse. As a mother of twins and the former president of New Mexico Parents of Multiples, she also enjoys working with parents and is well-versed in birth trauma and the intricacies of parenthood. She is also the daughter of a Vietnam veteran and likes working with veterans. She has lived throughout the U.S. and traveled abroad extensively.

Mage is a non-binary multi-media artist pursuing their masters in clinical mental health counseling with art therapy. They have experiencing facilitating art therapy groups for adolescents and for adults, including one focusing on members experiencing chronic illness.

Mage has experience with a wide variety of artistic media and works from an existential person-centered mindset that is influenced by somatic and polyvagal theories. Mage's perspective centers trauma-informed practice and aims to address the artifacts of trauma in the present moment. Mage is an empathetic, compassionate, and curious listener. They hold queer-affirming space to explore for their clients and see social justice work as integral to being a therapist inside and outside of session.

Finding a place of somatic safety is essential to do any kind of therapeutic work, and, for some, therapeutic art-making can be a bottom-up, non-verbal approach that allows for that safety to be more readily accessible. No previous experience with art or any self or external perception of "talent" is necessary to engage with art therapy. Being open to the healing power of art and creative processes is a good place to start.

JEFFERY, MPH Intern

PUBLIC HEALTH INTERN

Jeffery has an associates and bachelors degree in Public Health and is completing his applied practice experience as a final step in his Masters of Public Health. He has 11 years’ experience as Active-Duty Air Force Public health and has a broad exposure to different aspects of healthcare delivery. From humanitarian disaster health responses to disease prevention program management Jeffery is well versed in Public Health principles and high stress situations. The basis of any aspect of public health is effective patient education for self-management and disease prevention.

Jeffery is skilled at guiding patient populations through sensitive topics like sexual and reproductive health education along with effective health promotion. Jeffery is understanding of the many issues facing veterans and military populations and is hopeful to improve health outcomes not only within this population but those lives that are impacted by military service. With Jeffery’s focus in health promotion and patient education he hopes to meet people where they are on their personal health journey and help them understand the critical role they have in their healthcare and quality of life. Jeffery is pro LGBTQ+ and is able to deliver education from a non-judgmental, open-minded foundation.
